He pointed out that it is essential to provide specialized care to those who have suffered from the disease due to the seriousness of its consequences.

During his tour of the municipality of Puerto Padre, one of those with a worsening epidemiological panorama, he visited the polyclinic in the town of Delicias, a facility with a capacity of 100 beds that, which is getting ready to care for convalescent patients. “He insisted that this unit should be seen as an extension of the Guillermo Domínguez Hospital and have specialized personnel so that patients feel protected with the follow-up that is done.

When exchanging with directors of "Guillermo Domínguez", the main health institution in the northern municipality, he emphasized the urgency of reversing the organizational problems that affect the quality of services and cause discomfort in the population; something that has been worked hard, but "We have to do better," he said.

It is vital, he argued, the efficiency of the attention in the medical offices. Due to the dissimilar responsibilities that doctors and nurses have in this primary level of care, he urged that they receive greater support from the Community Work Groups.

He also learned how the capacities are expanded in the different health facilities in the face of the increase in confirmed cases, as well as respiratory consultations. In this sense, he emphasized that the lack of resources such as antigen tests can never prevent an accurate diagnosis and adjusted to the patient's symptoms.

In an exchange with students from the University of Medical Sciences, he recognized the excellent work they have carried out during the pandemic and requested their support in the battle that the country is waging against the diversion and illegal sale of medicines.
