The Colombia sugar mill started the sugar harvest in Las Tunas

The Colombia sugar mill started its machinery at dawn on December 7, so that the 2022-2023 sugar harvest began in the Las Tunas southern municipality of the same name.

"Colombia", Las Tunas.- For 87 days, its mission will be to produce honeydew, some 25 thousand tons, which will contribute to the production of alcohol, beverages, and liquors at the distillery in the municipality of Amancio.

Ángel Villalobos Ramírez, the administrator of the industry, pointed out that "the commitment is to produce about 1,070 tons daily. The sugar mill received a good repair as if we were going to produce sugar, which was achieved with everyone's effort and looking for alternatives."

Villalobos Ramírez highlights that "it is a challenge that the sugar producers of this territory have assumed due to the economic impact for the country, as well as for our municipality and, fundamentally, for the workers and their families who will have a wage guarantee."

“The Clock” of the sugar harvests in this eastern Cuban province enters into operation at the beginning of the 2022-2023 campaign, the so-called harvest of diversification and efficiency; objectives that are proposed to be achieved in the Colombia Agribusiness Sugar Company.
