Las Tunas delegation to the 10th Congress of the University Student Federation (FEU) was flagged off

The 17-member delegation representing the province of Las Tunas in the 10th Congress of the University Student Federation (FEU) was flagged off by Karla Santana Rodríguez, the national president of the organization, in the José Martí Plaza.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- "The FEU members from Las Tunas are an essential stronghold for our work in the country; committed students, from whom we expect nothing less than their willingness to continue transforming our chore and betting on it for the better future for our students", highlighted the head of the organization founded in 1922 by Julio Antonio Mella.

Las Tunas in the 10th Congress of the University Student Federation (FEU) was flagged off Milena Rodríguez Pavón, the president of the University of Las Tunas, stressed that the year of the centenary has been ideal for getting closer to the inside of the organization and visualizing the possible transformations in guiding documents.

Her words were endorsed by Daimerilis Flores Charles, her local Medical Sciences University counterpart, who said that the objective is to guarantee a more horizontal, representative organization within each group of future Cuban professionals.

During the ceremony, the leadership of the student guild awarded the FEU Centennial Condition to people, institutions, and students who support the work of the longest-running youth organization in Cuba.

The delegates from Las Tunas have participated in workshops and other spaces for dialogue to receive comprehensive preparation, debate topics of interest, and conceive criteria and proposals for the Congress that will honor the 64th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, the 90th birthday of José Antonio Echeverría, and the 60th anniversary of the Youth Communist League (UJC).

The flag-waving ceremony was attended by Manuel Pérez Gallego, a member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the CubanCommunist Party in the province; Yelenis Tornet Menéndez, the vice governor, and members of the National Bureau of the UJC, among other political and government leaders.
