The strength and will of the people to continue advancing were the keys to facing the hard times lived here during 2022, expressed the member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in the province, Manuel Pérez Gallego, in the central words of the ceremony for the 64th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, held in the municipality of Manatí on Tuesday. In the future, he assured, food production will continue to be a fundamental task for Las Tunas.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- "For 2023, he said, the purposes of the land of Vicente Garcia in the economic field are aimed at creatively developing the best initiatives to achieve more efficiency, variety, and sustainability in the strategies outlined. Systematizing savings, control, and control of expenses; together with the increase of exports and the substitution of imports."
The party leader highlighted the importance of strengthening the socialist state enterprise and the small and medium enterprises that have emerged since the end of 2021, as a fundamental way to achieve the necessary and urgent take-off required by the territory's economy. Pérez Gallego pointed out the importance of the prosperity of the Balcony of the Cuban East of advancing in livestock and, fundamentally, in sugar production.
He also warned that it is urgent "to apply science, technology, and innovations; to consolidate the municipal development strategy and the participation of the different actors in concrete actions and local food self-sufficiency". Each of these objectives, he insisted, will require the perennial sensitivity and dedication of the political cadres and administrative leaders on whom falls the responsibility of channeling the popular impulse and making responsible and efficient use of the resources placed in their hands.
Finally, he extended warm congratulations to all the people of Tunisia and especially to the health workers, who were fundamental in the victory of our province over the covid-19 pandemic, allowing us to advance towards the new normality in which we find ourselves.
WELL-DESERVED HONORS
During the evening, the voice of the university students was heard through Milena Maday Rodríguez Pavón, who is studying for a degree in Sociocultural Management for Development, and Daimarelis Flores Charles, a future stomatologist, who said that the year 2022 was full of challenges; but they emphasized that it was precisely in the face of this that the young people were on the front line facing the danger in the fight against the coronavirus.
"We bet on life and we never gave up," they said. In these times the FEU will continue to grow, they expressed. "It is not a whim, it is an obligation to be with our foot in the stirrup, from the classrooms, in the communities, and in the tasks that are necessary," they maintained.
At the ceremony, a group of young people and outstanding workers received their cards as members of the Young Communist League and the Communist Party of Cuba. There was also space for the celebration, next to the municipality where the commemoration was held, for journalists, sportsmen, intellectuals, and workers, as well as institutions and organizations with remarkable work in the calendar about to conclude. A special moment was reserved to pay tribute to Dánel Castro, an illustrious son of the Manatán region, who this year inscribed his name in the record books of Cuban baseball.
On the occasion of the victorious January, the Sueños Infantiles children's circle was inaugurated in the northern municipality, with a capacity for 120 children, in a coordinated effort of the local government together with the institutions and social organizations of this territory, despite the economic difficulties of the last 12 months. The Las Palmas cafeteria also opened its doors, together with some spaces in the town's agricultural and livestock market. The province's highest political and governmental authorities also visited the local Elderly Home, which benefited from repairs.
