Agriculture is the sector with the highest availability of employment.

In the first months of the current 2023, the province of Las Tunas does not present a good situation in terms of employment, labor interruptions, and the placement of middle school and university graduates, and since the last analysis in March until the end of April, the indicators had hardly changed.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Of the people with employment needs that are being monitored, only 1,767 have been placed, including those who have left the study, university graduates, mid-level technicians, and those who have graduated from penitentiary centers.

According to a report analyzed by the last Council of Government in the province, the projections for the generation of new jobs in 2023 do not cover the demands formulated by the controlled potential, especially young people, women, and vulnerable people who are no longer studying or working.

In this sense, three thousand eleven positions have been defined in the agricultural sector for the delivery of land in usufruct, and the projection of another 311 from the creation of mini-industries in the integral agricultural, agroforestry, grain, storage, and Jobabo urban farm enterprises.

Currently, 48 mid-level technicians remain without job placement, and among the causes are defined as some who do not like the offers made, others are still in the process of transferring to different provinces, pregnant women, and mothers with small children.

This year the local development programs should generate 215 new jobs in the state sector, all in food production, construction materials, and various productions, while the Inversionistas processes will create 23 new positions.

The implementation of the indications of Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, related to the updating of the unemployed from study and work in the 83 popular councils of the province, determined the existence of 4,467 people in that situation, interested in working.

Among the measures to improve the employment situation and labor interruptions, there are new actions that allow, from the communities, entities, and local development projects in execution, the identification of all possible sources of employment to meet the demands still unresolved, with priority for young people and women.
