The Middle School Students Federation  (FEEM) groups 14,500 members in Las Tunas

In the first days of July, the Provincial Assembly of the Federation of Middle School Students (FEEM in Spanish) in Las Tunas will be a space for the recount of what has been achieved in the work before the meeting and an incentive to continue on the path of strengthening an organization that since its inception in 1970, brought together the student movement and strengthened the unity around the Union of Young Communists (UJC in Spanish).

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Yanisbel García Ramírez, a member of the UJC Bureau, said that after five years of the previous meeting of this kind, they have reached this moment after the realization of exchanges in each study group, in the 42 educational centers of Secondary Education and all the municipalities of the territory.

He added that, except for the provincial capital, Puerto Padre and Jobabo, where the number of delegates will be higher, the rest of the localities will have a delegation of 10 representatives, including group presidents, FEEM presidents at the school and local level, as well as outstanding students and contest winners.

For his part, Christian Acevedo Serrano, president of the FEEM here, pointed out that the analyses dealt with topics such as organic functioning, vocational training, and professional orientation, entrance to Higher Education, the attractiveness of classes, and the use of new technologies, as well as the availability of notebooks and sports equipment, among other issues.

Present and future, the more than 14,500 members of FEEM, in this province, have as work guidelines, towards the National Assembly of the organization, the promotion of group meetings as an essential space for analysis and reflection, healthy recreation, greater speed in responding to the concerns of the membership and, in short, continue to strengthen the life and work of the organization in its 52 years.
