After some incidents that have affected the water supply in Las Tunas City, the Hydraulic Works Rehabilitation and Maintenance Company is already carrying out actions to replace about 155 meters of pipes and stabilize the service in populated neighborhoods such as La Victoria.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The works are carried out in the conduit located in the community of La Loma, responsible for guaranteeing the supply of the vital liquid to La Victoria and Aguilera districts, and an important area of the historic center of the city, the reason for which the brigades of the company, belonging to the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH), work permanently.

Yordanis Álvarez Rodríguez, director of the entity, exclusively told the Cuban News Agency that the transformations include the replacement of the entire steel core pipeline for a high-density polyethylene one, which involves exhausting days of excavation and land movement.

The new parts are much more economical and durable, with less wear due to corrosion or abrasion, and also have considerable flexibility that allows curvatures to be incorporated and direction to vary, depending on the areas that need to be reached, he pointed out.

It is expected to finish the work in the shortest possible time, with the quality it deserves. We have both, the logistical and human necessary resources, besides the support of the Aqueduct and Sewerage Company, stressed the manager.
