The Municipal Assembly 11th Congress of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC in Spanish) was held in the municipality of Majibacoa, with the presence of Yaneydis Pérez Cruz, a member of the National Secretariat of the organization and other authorities of the territory.
Majibacoa, Las Tunas.- Consolidating the functioning at the grassroots level was an idea reiterated in the great meeting, where the main interventions also revolved around women's empowerment, the work of the House of Orientation for Women and the Family, as well as achieving greater linkage of federates with agricultural work to support food production.
In this sense, some women referred to the strengthening of the link between the FMC and the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP by its acronym in Spanish), although in this aspect Majibacoa already shows progress, a criterion which was endorsed by authorities of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) and the women organization in the province.
The delegates also referred to the political-ideological work with the youth and the efficient use of social networks, "contents of collective interest are no longer published", they warned, at the same time they made a call not to be light in the selection of contents.
They highlighted the work of the house workshop of the municipality, where they work with the girls on issues related to the history of the Federation and Cuba in general.
In Majibacoa, women's empowerment is on track, said delegate Elaine Lorenzo Rosales, coordinator of the Blanca Rosa se Reanima Local Development Project, a life alternative that offers employment to about 10 federates of that locality. Our objective is that the women of Majibacoa also be sovereign in the economic sphere, remarked Lorenzo Rosales.
The Secretariat and the Municipal Committee of the FMC, headed by Yaumara Ramírez Rodríguez, were ratified by direct and secret ballot for a new five-year term. Likewise, the pre-candidates to the XI Congress of the organization were selected, as well as the seven delegates to the Provincial Assembly.
