Construction materials on display at the 3rd Industry and Trade Fair

The Las Tunas Building Materials Company is one of the most antiquated in the country, equipped with obsolete technology, so its workers do everything they can to fulfill their contracts, even when the lack of fuel has become another obstacle to production.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Oscar Ayala González, director of this national production entity, explained to 26 that "Up to now, the production lines have been framed to the energy carriers that we have received for blocks, floors in their two ranges: mosaic and granite. The same goes for clay; this is one of the productions we have tried to do because of the need for the roofs.”

Aggregates are the main strength of the industry in the territory, although they are navigating new paths that have never been explored before in obtaining new materials. "We have ventured into obtaining carbonate, which is nothing more than the same stone removed to a fine granulomere which is used as animal feed, paint, cosmetics, this is one of the novelties that the industry is handling at the moment, and although it is already a recurrent practice in the country, a few months ago we joined it from 'Amancio'."

"We also work with quarry waste that used to be lost, today we are recirculating it because of the call made by the Cuban president to use the principles of the circular economy, that is a product that used to be lost, now we are recovering it and it has a great acceptance among the population in retail sales, some of these productions were shown at the 3rd Industry and Commerce Fair, held last December."

The drive of those working in the construction sector makes it possible to carry out state plans and reach the population to a certain extent.
