Las Tunas supports Santiago's recovery actions

Three brigades of workers from the Las Tunas Electricity Company are already in Santiago de Cuba to support the restoration of the damage caused by Tropical Storm Laura to the electricity grid in that territory.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The team is made up of 22 men, in addition to several specialized vehicles, managers and mechanics, said René Rocío Pupo, deputy director of the Company in this eastern Cuban province. On Santiago soil, they joined their colleagues from Holguín and Granma.

More than four thousand linemen are working right now throughout Cuba to restore the damages of the meteor, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) announced through its official Twitter account.

They especially do so in the provinces of Santiago de Cuba and Pinar del Río, which suffered the hardest attacks from "Laura" in their distribution networks. Although, in total, the National Power Grid was affected by 1,157 megawatts, it concluded.
