The first Havana chili bell pepper export of the year 2025 in Las Tunas materialized through Agroint, a company authorized for foreign trade. Hasty hands put effort, given the need for the product to reach the demanding foreign market as best as possible.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- Alliances with the Semillas Las Tunas base business unit (UEB in Spanish) have allowed the local productive forces to harvest, benefit, and transport some 300 kilograms of the assortment.
"We have made the first shipment of this calendar, destined for Canada. We had not had an export of this type for about a year and a half. We have set strategies in motion with farmers in the province. The UEB Semillas Las Tunas is included with its farm located in the municipality of Manatí. We are already enjoying the first result: placing the product from Las Tunas in the international market", emphasizes engineer Carlos Pavón Cruz, productive technical director of Agroint.
"We transport the harvested chili peppers from our farm. We cut the stems, evaluate the quality, and remove impurities, and the specialists certify its suitability for export. There is enough sown, calculating a guaranteed cycle of five to six months. We are certain that we have the necessary quantities to continue exporting this product," said Wilber Núñez, director of UEB.

The habanero chili bell pepper areas are certified under international standards. This is the first export of the UEB Semillas Las Tunas in joint negotiations with the exporting pole Agroint. The project is expected to expand.
"Other farmers from the municipality of Majibacoa and a state-owned MSME of ‘Jesús Menéndez’ have joined the project, and in the next few days, the crop house of Puerto Padre should be incorporated. We are also working in nearby provinces such as Holguín and Camagüey," Pavón Cruz said, with the joy caused by good efforts and their results.
In this way, Las Tunas is launching itself to conquer new markets to position items with the seal and guarantee of Agroint.
