Marbelis Mir Corrales was recognized for her 14 years as a political leader.

Members of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in Las Tunas, meeting in an extraordinary plenary session, agreed to promote William Proenza Mendoza to the Executive Bureau to head the social sector, replacing Marbelis Mir Corrales, who was released at the proposal of the Cadre Commission of the PCC Central Committee.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Proenza Mendoza had held the position of first secretary of the political organization in the municipality of "Amancio" for two years. According to reports, he distinguished himself in the southern territory for his constant interaction with the rank and file, his discipline, authority, and prestige among workers and the population.

Mir Corrales was recognized for her 14 years as a political leader, as well as her integrity and perseverance in fulfilling various tasks, and her unconditional dedication to the health, sports, education, and science sectors. From now on, she will assume other responsibilities in the organization's work.

For its part, the Municipal PCC Committee in Amancio elected 36-year-old Alfredo Fidel González Escobar as its first secretary, who was previously in charge of the political-ideological sphere. Likewise, the members of this structure approved Melexis Canales Villafaña to attend the political-ideological sphere, and Yurkenia Barzaga La O to attend the social sector.

At the Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee, its first secretary, Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez, said that the southern municipality is making progress on several indicators, which must be maintained, as well as the attention to the social area.
