The current economic strategy, which is implemented in our country, has among its most objective goals the diversification and increase of local products in international markets.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- According to experts on the subject, these goods and services have been inserted positively in foreign platforms, however, along with these purposes, it is urgent to prioritize the legal aspects of trademarks and distinctive signs, key in foreign trade.
"Not only should there be an interest in the structural quality of the product, the added value to optimize the economic effect on their sales or seek more customers for the trade, if there is no registered trademark they cannot be incorporated into the market,” the master in Sciences Keila Borrero Reynaldo said, who is head of operations at the Center for Information and Technological and Environmental Management (CIGET), an institution authorized to carry out trademark registrations in Las Tunas.
“Those who choose to export have to take into account the registration, because in the international market it is a common practice, in addition to established law, that you must have the distinctive signs and designs that are legalized. What does not have a brand does not have quality,” also mentioned the specialist in Intellectual Property.
Training in this regard, both for state-owned companies and other forms of management must be a priority in the long journey of exports. A completely new terrain that identifies each product and that if it is a question of better opportunities, in a suitable legislative environment, starting with the brand is the main chapter.
“The dangers are clear when brand procedures are not performed. The first is that they can copy the sign and thus force it to leave that market because there is already a third party that has it stipulated identical or similar to yours, or in another case, it may be the subject of a lawsuit for violation of the law from third parties, she explained.
Recently, in the tenth Business Round developed in our province, the exportable items represented were strengthened with new agreements while others, which were identified for the first time, start marketing, and the distinction is important due to the image of the product.
Undoubtedly, the new horizons in foreign trade indicate a path that is not easy at all, but it is possible when the desire and the will do not lose the rhythm. During the Round, it was shown that there is potential here in terms of exportable items, but work must be done without pauses so that the consolidated ones are not lost and those that are still being promoted and identified are not born crooked and with good omen, they look for the necessary added values to the merchandise that allow obtaining greater profits and currency for the country.
