A total of 1,666 people from Las Tunas found employment so far in the dependencies of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (DPTSS), where guidance is offered in this regard, in order to support those interested and promote a better scenario for the creation of wealth in the country.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- The total number of people in search of occupation in the whole territory exceeds 3,500, assured Valentina Aguilera Puig, deputy director of the activity at the DPTSS, whose offices remain active for the attention of citizens.
She also said that of the total of locations, 719, the highest number, will be self-employed. Regarding this data, Aguilera Puig explained that more than 500 people were out of work, 134 were housewives, and six were released from penitentiary centers.
She also added that about 400 people found employment in the budgeted sector, while fifty will work in various production units of the agricultural sector.
The deputy director stressed that of the 1,166 people from Las Tunas incorporated into an activity in the economy, 47 percent are young people under 35 years, and stressed that developing a trade or profession is the main protection for a citizen.
For those who continue searching for a job, just over 400 offers are available, most of them in the agricultural sector, she said.
Regarding this, she specified that these offers are not of interest for many of those who inquire about a job and, in these cases, the person's data is recorded in a register and in case of an opportunity they will be notified, always depending on their school level and job skills.
"The entities of the budgeted sector dispatch vacancies with the municipal directorates, which is not extended to the business sector that does have the powers to directly employ a worker," the official finally explained.
