"Making Revolution on the Go" is the FMC's slogan for March 8.

A few days after the celebration of March 8, the International Women's Day, the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) is leading several activities to highlight the work and commitment of Las Tunas women, especially during this year, facing the pandemic - which has put the strength of many to the test - and in the most diverse settings.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Yolennys Osorio Peña, a member of the FMC provincial secretariat, told 26 that the aspiration is for women to be active participants in the festivities, with a movement tempered by the country's priorities.

"We have planned the planting of fruit and timber trees in the communities, the declaration of patios with the 60 Aniversario Condition of the organization and the meeting for reflection on the use of national symbols with the participation of the Frente Juvenil Femenino (Female Youth Front), as well as visits from the federated and grassroots leaders to the historical sites identified in each municipality.

"We will hold workshops related to gender violence, exchanges with prominent women, founders, managers ..., cultural activities for youth in different spaces and others at the grassroots level to commemorate the anniversary, always with strict compliance with health measures.”

Osorio Peña commented that in greeting to this March 8 they have the purpose of incorporating 633 girls over 14 years of age into the organization and should arrive in 2021 just over 2,510.

Undoubtedly, this time the recognition of the health brigades, social workers, and others in the delegations, who have known how to be at the forefront in the fight against COVID-19, is significant. And all those women who keep making Revolution with their daily dedication will also be commended.
