Several institutions in Las Tunas carry out preparation exercises to face fires and other disasters, while the National Fire Protection Week is carried out each year to prevent and specifying modes of action in the face of these catastrophes.

The National Fire Protection Week culminates in coincidence with the Meteoro-2021 Exercise, scheduled for the weekend, which will concentrate its efforts on specifying disaster risk reduction plans, amid the restrictions imposed by the current health situation caused by the COVID- 19.
