1st "Faure Chomón Mediavilla" International Event

The first international event in homage to Comandante Faure Chomón Mediavilla takes place this Wednesday in Las Tunas, with the presentation of around 30 papers by Cuban researchers, and others from Spain, Sweden, the United States, and Canada.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The organizers highlighted to 26 that Faure Chomón is a kind of starting point for, from multiple perspectives, to study Las Tunas more, to know how much we have grown within the Revolution. Because, undoubtedly, the history of this region cannot be told without resorting to how much the passage of Chomón through these lands contributed to it; to culture, education, and its general development in different areas.

The organizers announce that they are also working on the memories of the event, so that the valuable studies presented are available to those who decide to approach these issues and learn, from the man who was such an illustrious Commander, a little of what we are.

The activities of these days are dedicated to the Doctors of Science José Guillermo Montero and Roberto Fernández Naranjo, who died as a result of COVID-19, and the historian of this city, Master of Science Víctor Manuel Marrero Zaldívar, whose death we most recently regret.

An exhibition of photographs related to the presence in Las Tunas of Commander Faure Chomón Mediavilla was inaugurated on Tuesday in the José Martí provincial library, as a prelude to today’s event.
