Celebration for the 61st anniversary of the Ministry of Interior (MININT)

Intelligence, firmness, discipline, and the patriotic principles of the members of the Ministry of Interior (MININT) were recognized in the act that marked the 61st anniversary of the organization, which was developed in its provincial headquarters, in Las Tunas.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- During the event - presided over by Manuel Pérez Gallego, a member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in the territory- several officers were stimulated for their successful performance in the entrusted missions.

Celebration for the 61st anniversary of the Ministry of Interior (MININT)A large group of fighters with an exemplary service record in the defense of citizen legality and tranquility was promoted to the immediate superior rank, and others deserved the Distinguished Service Award, for their unconditional delivery for 15 and 20 years of permanence in the glorious organ.

Colonel Lázaro Davis Sánchez, Chief of the MININT in the province, received the recognition of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, the Cuban Workers Central Union, and the Young Communist League, as well as the military counterintelligence, the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Prosecutor's Office.

In the name of the ascended officials, Lieutenant Colonel Erlán Vega highlighted their commitment and loyalty in the defense of the conquests of the people in complex circumstances, because of the constant threats of the enemy.

That has been possible due to the extraordinary capacity of men and women who ensure compliance with the law, preserve our borders, avoid drug trafficking, fight fires, prevent traffic accidents, and take care of forests, among other functions.

On June 6, 1961, when the echo of the great victory of Playa Girón (Bay of Pigs) against the Yankee imperialism was still fresh, the Ministry of Interior was created to guarantee the order and safety of Cubans, so today they receive the social recognition they deserve.
