Health personnel from Las Tunas is ready to help in Matanzas

Las Tunas health personnel send their "hug" of solidarity to the inhabitants of Matanzas and step forward to provide their services, after the large-scale fire that occurred in the industrial zone of that western city.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- With the certainty that the united people can overcome any contingency, Dr. Osmany Gutiérrez Lores, deputy director of Medical Assistance, reported that more than a hundred professionals, grouped into three brigades, are prepared to offer their collaboration in various institutions of the network of care centers of the "City of Bridges."

“Since Saturday morning, we took on the task of summoning a group of doctors and forming brigades to support our sister province. We already have that force ready to go there once we are requested, ”he explained.
Specialists in Orthopedics, Caumatology, Pediatrics, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology, and more than 70 nurses make up this team willing to go to work hand in hand with colleagues from Matanzas, who spare no effort to save lives since the arrival of the first injured.

An operation and relief brigade of the Red Cross was also activated here, and the base business unit of the Wholesale Marketing and Distribution of Medicines (EMCOMED) has been in charge of sending vital medical supplies in this type of emergency.

Las Tunas inhabitants have expressed their solidarity with the Matanzas people through the press and social media; a call to donate blood at the Provincial Bank was announced, an initiative that already has its antecedents in other events, the most recent, the explosion at the Saratoga hotel.
