Under the slogan "Donating blood is an act of solidarity, join the endeavor and we will save lives," the Central Union of Cuban Workers (CTC, in Spanish) in Las Tunas called for blood donations, starting this August 9.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Dagmara Peña Sánchez, a member of the CTC Secretariat, said that the personnel of the Provincial Blood Bank began to receive all the people willing to donate blood at 7:00 in the morning.

Peña Sánchez specified that this massive day of blood donations will be the solidarity contribution of our people in the face of the intense fire that broke out on  Friday afternoon in the city of Matanzas.

"Solidarity and humanism are values that characterize Las Tunas inhabitants and we are sure that, as they have always done, our workers will say present," the union leader said.
