With the starting whistle, next November, the Antonio Guiteras sugar company, located in the community of Delicias, in the municipality of Puerto Padre, will assume the task of obtaining 10 percent of the country's sugar production plan.

Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- The challenge is assumed with great efforts, for which time is pressing; and it is vital to make the most of the resources to polish deficiencies in the machinery before the start of the campaign.

Wilfredo Moreno García, harvest manager of AZCUBA Sugar Business Group, recognized the work of the innovators of the “Colossus” in the recovery of parts and accessories that substitute imports.

At the center of the debate, in which leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and directors of Azcuba participated, were issues related to individual responsibility, from planting to cutting and transporting the cane; besides tempering the work system to the current conditions, which would facilitate the systematic control of each process.

Similarly, they pointed out the importance of getting better exploitation of the derivatives, the main source of income in the previous harvest, to pay off debts accumulated due to poor performance in recent courses; as well as the added boost of the 93 measures approved to revive the sugar agribusiness.
