Provincial act to celebrate April 4th in Las Tunas

Young people and pioneers filled the surroundings of the Las Tunas Provincial Museum from the early morning hours. The event to celebrate the 61st anniversary of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM) and the 60th anniversary of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) was attended by the main political and governmental authorities of the province.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The activity included the delivery of the UJC’s 60th Anniversary Condition to a group of youngsters who join the list of those who had had already received it in these lands, and the card that accredits the new members of the organization in the territory; as well as the recognition from other agencies and organizations.

A student with a red scarf said on stage that "the pioneers also go all out," while the peasant tune also echoed the slogan chanted by the protagonists of these times: “And, today when the people need it, the youngsters go all out.”

Yasmani Rodríguez La Rosa, a member of the national committee of the UJC and its first secretary in the province, delivered the main speech in which he greeted the Provincial Assembly of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), scheduled for April 8.

He also spoke of the merit of "achieving self-realization in the land where we were born," praised this "revolution thought, made, and defended by those who can sweat and love," and thanked all those who, today, in hard times, bet for Cuba. He also recalled José Martí from the spirit of the youth; because "love is paid with love."
