With the premise of an inclusive education, a hundred works were part of the Basic Secondary School Provincial Congress 2023, an important stage for the exchange of experiences and the socialization of research results by Las Tunas educators.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The local chapter of the event featured papers referring to the use of new technologies in teaching settings, prevention in school environments, comprehensive sexuality education, and the relationship between school, family, community, and society, among other topics. Similar issues will be discussed, from November 20 to 24, during the international meeting that will take place in the Cuban capital.

Adrián Manuel Hechavarría, head of the Basic Secondary Department in the Provincial Directorate of the sector, highlighted that the event is "conducive to the consolidation of good inclusive practices in any context, applied to the development of the teaching-learning process, through citizen training, respect for cultural diversity and national identity, and the legacy of universal values."

Likewise, he specified that Basic Secondary is the only educational level in the country that brings together Cubans and foreigners committed to comprehensive and humanistic schooling in a congress of this magnitude.

With the title “Education and learning as a possibility to transform,” the inaugural conference was given by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences José Ignacio Reyes González, a professor at the University of Las Tunas, who spoke about how inclusion is manifested in the cloisters of this teaching and society, in general.

The Provincial Congress of Basic Secondary School 2023 also had researchers from provincial centers; among them, the Luis Urquiza Jorge Vocational Pre-University Institute of Exact Sciences (IPVCE), the Simón Bolívar Mixed Center, and the José Martí Provincial
Pioneers Palace.
