Las Tunas.- The coastal community of El Socucho, in the municipality of Puerto Padre, was connected to the National Power Grid on Sunday.

The incident will has a great impact on the improvement of living and working conditions not only of the local population, but the whole province, because thousands of people travel there to enjoy the beaches and other services.
More than 400 houses, 45 of which belong to those who live there permanently, as well as state institutions were benefited with the new service. The investment, amounting to half a million pesos, will also allow a monthly saving of some 20,000 liters of fuel destined to the functioning of two generating sets.
The workers of the Provincial Power Company completed the installation of 131 pylons and overhead wires along 12 kilometers, from the community of La Morena, in about 45 days.
From now on will no longer be a concern the limited time to make ice, give someone a glass of cold water when summer warms, or preserve food. It is about quality of life.
Ariel Santana Santiesteban, member of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and its first secretary in Las Tunas, recognized those who contributed to make this old dream come true. He called on the local residents to take care of resources and avoid social indiscipline.
It was also inaugurated a pharmacy sued for several years.
