A flash of emerald and ruby broke the monotony of the afternoon. It wasn't just any buzz, but the frantic flapping of wings that only announces the presence of one of the most magical and tiny of our winged neighbors: the hummingbird.
For a fleeting moment, my home became an obligatory stop on its tireless route. I could observe it, suspended in the air with a mastery that defies gravity, as it explored the flowers in the garden. Its movements were an electric dance, a marvel of nature in fast motion.
Immense energy resides in its small body. It is a living reminder of the beauty and fragility of the natural world that surrounds us, even in the heart of the city. It fed with precision; its beak, like a skilled needle, extracted the nectar, and then, as quickly as it arrived, it departed, leaving behind only silence and the indelible impression of its visit.
It has been said that seeing a hummingbird brings good luck and joy. I’m sure of having witnessed a miracle in my own backyard. Thank you, beautiful traveler, for this gift from Mother Nature.
