He is not physically able to walk from one neighborhood to another checking that the Las Tunas’ soup, the diplomas, and the ornaments were ready to wait for the date that moved how much passion and dedication he had during his life: the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR). It was, perhaps, the most enjoyed and constant love for work, even after illness and the years took him away from daily, face-to-face activity...

Las Tunas, Cuba.- It is impossible not to imagine him there from his dimension, with the unconditional, vigilant, creative example; more, in times when it is necessary to get up and join fists, motivation, and intelligence. He never rested in that eagerness. Until the last moments, he transmitted experience, wisdom, and determination for community movements that brought well-being and promoted the fulfillment of goals, urgent tasks, and local and country projects.

Róger Enrique Mastrapa is a kind of good breath this September 28, an undefeated sword in the face of the challenges. He beats in the essential call for blood donations, the reactivation of urban agriculture, the solution to old problems that are sleeping in the neighborhood, between inefficiency and reality.

He jumps, yes, with the dream of the people of Las Tunas to maintain relevance in the results in the national emulation, because he, distinguished coordinator of the organization in the province, won the right to stay. And on the eve of the new anniversary, he is light and guide, impulse and reason, living memory.

Then, I go back to the memory of this restless cederista and I feel the consummate tribute. Here are the CDRs, in the fight to achieve food sovereignty. They walk with their shields on their shoulders to reduce the contagion of the deadly COVID-19. They are looking for better alternatives to solve the complex problems of the economic crisis, exacerbated by the global consequences of the pandemic and the intensification of the blockade. They participate in the vaccination to multiply life...

And that, even when there are flowers to be planted in the gardens, is light... the idea that Róger Enrique Mastrapa defended, an eternal legend for the CDRs in Las Tunas.
