Agricultores will be dressed in brown and lime green

The visual identity of the six teams that will animate the 1st Elite Baseball League was published, with some designs better achieved than others, and more or less accepted by fans on social media.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In line with the first reactions, and perhaps to be consistent with all the controversy that has surrounded the team, the colors of "Agricultores" (Farmers) have quickly created a division among their followers. According to the publication of the Baseball National Commission, the line-up that brings together players from Las Tunas and Granma will wear brown and lime green.

On a conceptual level, the colors seem to be justified: the dark brown of the land and the light green of the fields for a team that, ultimately and against popular will, by the way, bears the name of Agricultores.

However, the confusion comes when it comes to combining both colors in the visitor's uniform of the team that Carlos Martí will direct. Although some trends in the world of fashion consider them compatible, the truth is that they are very difficult to blend, as can be seen in the Teammate brand’s proposal.

Another issue that has created debate is the selection of a color combination in which the identity of one of the two teams has been ignored. The Blue and red colors of Granma (in their different variants) are nowhere to be seen in uniforms that are much closer to the versions used by Las Tunas in recent years. Perhaps, the selection of brown as the only predominant color would have been the ideal solution. At least, that would have avoided the suspicions that already flood the networks.

In the rest of the proposals, the same thing happens, more or less; although almost all of them seem better achieved, in the aesthetic plane. Thus, "Tabacaleros" will wear the green of Pinar del Río to the detriment of the navy blue of Isla de la Juventud and the red of Artemisa; while "Centrales" will wear the orange of Villa Clara, ignoring the red of Matanzas and the green of Cienfuegos, among others examples.

For "Agricultores," the chapter on uniforms is just one more in the list of controversies that have surrounded the team, from the imposition of an overwhelmingly unpopular name to the unilateral preparation of a roster in which a figure of the stature of Dánel Castro does not appear.

The 1st Elite Baseball League, a tournament that aims to bring together the best of Cuban baseball on the island, will begin on October 8, with a schedule yet to be defined.
