Mentor Armando Ferrer confirmed the call of Dánel Castro to the Centrales team roster, after making it effective in the technical congress of the 1st Elite Baseball League, still without an official start date.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The manager from Matanzas kept his word to appeal to one of the best active hitters in Cuban baseball, inexplicably excluded by Carlos Martí from the roster of Agricultores.

The 46-year-old player averaged 299, with 13 home runs and 47 RBIs in the 61st National Series, a performance far superior to that of several of the players chosen by the veteran manager from Granma.

The Elite League, whose start date was postponed due to logistical problems, must be Dánel's last tournament in a long career spanning almost three decades. With a balanced and talented roster, the team that will wear orange adds the opportune third batter from Las Tunas, Cuban baseball's all-time leader in driving the tie or the lead.
