Little chess champion Eduardo Michel Jiménez, from Las Tunas

With 6.0 points out of 8.0 possible and combativeness as the flag, Eduardo Michel Jiménez Puig -from Las Tunas- won on Sunday the U-10 category in the 56th edition of the José Raúl Capablanca in Memoriam International Tournament, held in Havana.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- After eight games against rivals who were almost all older than him, there were no draws in the results of the little Jiménez Puig.

Six successes and two losses speak vehemently of the combativeness that he displayed on the boards of one of the most prestigious chess events on the continent.
The 6.0 units allowed him to take the crown in the U-10 category and also placed him in an excellent seventh place among those under 12 years of age.

Eduardo Michel came to the competition as one of the 86 players who did not exhibit a recognized ELO and beat several rivals with superior endorsement, to the point of being just 1.5 points behind the U-12 champion, Esley Díaz Bombino, from Villa Clara, a player with 1855 ELO units.
