Chile 2025 Youth Parapan American Games

Las Tunas parathlete Aarón Arturo Marrero Escocia will represent Cuba at the 2025 Youth Parapan American Games to be held in Santiago, Chile, from October 31 to November 9, Sports officials announced here.

Aarón Arturo Marrero Escocia Las Tunas, Cuba.- Marrero Escocia will compete in athletics at the most important continental multi-sport event for the junior category. "His participation marks a double milestone; not only will it be the second time Cuba will be present at the event, but Aaron will also be officially registered as the first Las Tunas parathlete to compete in junior multi-sport games," said Aracelia Sánchez, director of the Carlos Leyva Sports Initiation School (EIDE).

“Special recognition goes to their dedicated and tireless coaches Daineris Suárez Torres and Carlos Matos Díaz, key figures in their development and athletic results,” she added.

The 6th Youth Parapan American Games will bring together participants from 33 countries across the continent. Organizers estimate that approximately 1,500 parathletes between the ages of 14 and 21 will compete in soccer for blind people, PC soccer (a seven-player sport adapted for people with brain injuries), goalball, wheelchair basketball, judo, track and field, swimming, weightlifting, table tennis, wheelchair tennis, sitting volleyball, and archery; as well as boccie, a game designed for people with disabilities, inspired by the Italian game of bocce or boccias.
