Russia became one of the first five grain suppliers to Brazil, to whom it sold, in the first seven months of the year, cereals worth 105.8 million dollars, the Sputnik news agency reported.

Moscow.- According to the information, from January to July this year, Brazil imported from Russia 380 thousand tons of wheat and meslin (a mixture of wheat and rye), thus the Russian country took fourth place among the largest suppliers. In the same period of 2022, Brazil did not purchase grains from Russia.

Previously, Russia sold grains to Brazil in 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2019, the largest sales, for US$ 5.6 million, corresponded to 2010.

Argentina is the traditional leader in grain sales to Brazil. In the first seven months of this year, it sent nearly two million tons to Brazil, worth $736.3 million.

In second place is Paraguay, from which Brazil imported 886 thousand tons of grains for US$ 290 million. At the same time, supplies to these two countries decreased by two and 1.5 times, respectively. (PL)
