The criminals film the operations and send photographs and videos to the relatives

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces in Lebanon warned today about kidnapping operations targeting Syrians residing in the national territory by gangs involved in human trafficking.

Beirut.- In a statement, the institution revealed that traffickers use fake accounts on social media, especially TikTok, to attract Syrians outside the country’s borders with the justification of securing their journey to Europe.

According to the agency, victims are kidnapped upon arrival in border areas, and then transported out of them and detained in rooms inside Syria, in locations near the borders between the two nations.

The citizens are brutally tortured and the criminals film the operations and send photographs and videos to their relatives to demand a ransom payment for their release. (PL)
