China will promote concrete actions with other countries at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

Beijing.- Spokesman Wang Wenbin emphasized that at the meeting, scheduled from November 30 to December 12 in Dubai, the first global stocktaking after the entry into force of the Paris Agreement will take place, which “is a key milestone for global climate governance.”

“China highly appreciates the UAE’s leading role as the chair of the Conference in pushing for green and low-carbon development and promoting global cooperation to address climate change,” he added.

Wang informed that China’s delegation will be headed by President Xi Jinping’s special representative, Ding Xuexiang, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and deputy prime minister of the Council of State.

“China will work with all parties to support the UAE in playing its role as chairman of the conference,” he pointed out.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry called for real actions, strengthening means of support and building a fair, cooperative and mutually beneficial global climate governance system. (PL)
