| There have been approximately 65,150 deaths in Palestine and 165,590 wounded, including about 80 in the last day. |
UN Secretary-General spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said on Thursday that approximately 56,000 Palestinians had been displaced from Gaza City since last Sunday due to the Israeli army's increased attacks in this area in the north of the Palestinian territory.
The spokesperson for UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned that the number of displacements across the Strip "is rising rapidly, already exceeding one million people" since the ceasefire achieved in January.
In addition, Dujarric noted that in the last five days, the Israeli army has attacked Gaza City, where there were 11 buildings belonging to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which were housing 11,000 individuals.
Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA Commissioner-General, said on Monday that ten of its facilities in the town, including seven schools and two clinics, had been damaged by Israeli bombing the previous week.
On Thursday, authorities in the Gaza Strip, which is under the control of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), reported that the Israeli offensive against the territory, launched after the attacks of October 7, 2023, has caused approximately 65,150 deaths and 165,590 injuries, including about 80 in the last day.
