Around 2.6 Armenians were called on Sunday to parliamentary polls to elect at least 106 Congresspeople for five years and to end the constitutional crisis the country is facing.

Yerevan.- Starting at 08:00 hours, local time, more than 2,000 poll stations opened for the second voting in Armenia in less than three years in an effort to end the differences between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinián and the opposition.

In the polls, 21 parties and four political alliances are running, including Pashinián's Civic Agreement Party, and Armenia Block, headed by opposition leader Robert Kosharián, the country's former president.
A second-round might be possible since political forces need to make up a stable parliamentary majority (54 percent) after the polls, Sputnik news agency.

Kosharián's bloc could win sits in Parliament, with 28.7 percent of votes, Pashinián’s party (25.2), former President Serzh Sarguisián's bloc (10.8), Prosperous Armenia (5.4), and Enlightened Armenia (5.2), according to a survey by the MPG Company, Consultant Gallup's Armenian representation. (PL)
