Women, Sima Bahous, the island's commitment to gender equality.

United Nations.- During a meeting on Wednesday at the United Nations, Amarelle explained several actions promoted in the Caribbean country to advance the empowerment of women and girls.

She also talked about the challenges they face and the support offered by Cuban institutions in these issues.

The meeting took place within the framework of the sixty-sixth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), which runs from March 14 to 25 at the U.N.

During this week and last week, Amarelle has had meetings with high-level officials from different countries, such as the Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity of Argentina, Elizabeth Gómez.

She also met with Iran's Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, Ensieh Khazali. She expressed her gratitude for the assistance provided to the island by the Persian nation in the production of vaccines against Covid-19.

She also met with South Africa's Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, and highlighted the support received from that country for the call to put an end to the U.S. blockade against Cuba. (RHC)
