For different reasons, thousands of people from Las Tunas today are far from Cuba, scattered throughout the five continents, some in precarious situations that compromise their health. 26 Digital shares the messages of some of them who, from their location, think of us and are in our thoughts.

I have just taken the Mexico City subway (which is sterilized every night). Today I noticed something that was curious to me, every day I see more people with masks and a decrease in the number of travelers. I left my house and said to myself, 'May all the saints and gods be with me. (In these days, you believe more, and has more hope). ) I grabbed my mask and my gloves.

I memorize every day what I touch and where I put my hands, which I wash with soap and water until they are well clean. I arrive and clean my desk with antibacterial gel. Here, at work, there is a lady who, when we arrive, has already cleaned our workspace and I trust her so much, but... again doubt assails me and to feel safe I do it again. I know it's extreme, but these days nothing seems too little to face the situation.

Mexico has dozens of cases reported every night. At 7:00 pm the Secretary of Health holds a conference to update the status of the country and insists on health measures. We have already begun the Healthy Distance campaign, which requires us to stay at least one meter away from each other and to take extreme sanitary measures (but we have not yet complied and we must do so).

"Even so, the schools are already in recess, there are workplaces that have taken the home office mode. But there are still many of us who get up, take the subway and pray that we are already in isolation as an effective preventive measure, and we pray that there are guarantees for those vulnerable sectors that go out every day to look for sustenance: Yelanys Hernández, journalist.

Eduardo, a resident of FranceEduardo, a resident of France: I went out to buy and the police guard the queues. The control of the crowds is strong. Everything is panicky. Seeing the empty streets is terrible. Paying is horrible, nobody wants to be close, and it seems you have leprosy. Well, this is worse. Everyone is separated by one meter.

"At the pharmacy, when I go to take my blood pressure for the heart attack I had, they don't touch me. It's all very, very rare. With fear, with tension. And it gets worse when you see the hospitals that already select who stays and who goes to the isolation camps, by age, by health conditions. This is tearing the world apart.

In the streets, you meet the police and others disinfecting everything, dressed in white up to the ears. In short, fear. You breathe in terror.

Lisandra is in Venezuela, along her husband JavierLisandra Fernández García and her husband Javier Miguel Pérez: We have the arduous task of going out into the streets every day, in Venezuela, to visit suspected patients who have had contact with people who have traveled to the countries that offer the greatest risk of contagion.

We try to take the necessary measures, using masks and gloves and when we get home we bathe and put our clothes in the sun. We are proud of the work we do here. To graduate as a doctor is to open the doors of a long road that leads to the noblest activity that a human being can do for others.

Yaulén Ruiz Pérez, in China: I am a professor at the University of Las Tunas. I am currently in the People's Republic of China studying for a Master's Degree in International Business at the University of Economics and International Business (UIBE) in Beijing.

Yaulén Ruiz Pérez, professor, in ChinaSince January, one of the most catastrophic epidemics of all time began in this country. For us, Cubans, it was something extremely new, since we had never seen ourselves in this situation, but China had already gone through something similar in 2003 with SARS; however, this time the situation was different, the Covid-19 is much more dangerous and deadly.

The appropriate measures were immediately taken. The first thing was to use masks, as this was the safest way to avoid contagion; the mandatory quarantine, in which it is strictly forbidden to leave the universities and no outsiders may enter either; to take extreme hygiene and health measures, to eat well-cooked food and to maintain communication at all times with our career coordinators.

The Cuban embassy has taken on the task of watching over our well-being, since in addition to distributing masks for protection, it is in constant communication with us, always aware of our state of health. At present, at the university where I am studying, they pass by twice a day to measure our temperature, give us masks, and circulate information bulletins on the guidelines to help prevent infection and ensure our safety and protection.

These are not times to question the measures taken, these are times to understand that it is necessary to comply with what is established. These are times to wear masks without complaining and to wash our hands as many times as necessary, to go out only as necessary and not for fun or negligence. These are difficult times, it's true, but let's be responsible, let's comply with the regulations because it's the best way to guarantee our lives.

I advise the people of Las Tunas to be strong, responsible, extol the name of our land and I am sure that after the passage of this storm we can make the history of how a people full of pride managed to overcome one of the greatest pandemics that has struck humanity. Courage, my people, I love you.

Roilán García Bello, from Copextel's Division in Las Tunas, is doing a doctorate in Moscow: The measures to stop the new coronavirus were taken since January, closing the border with China at the end of that month, in the capital a quarantine was set up for those who arrived from the affected countries.

This week, the Government extended the quarantine to all travelers entering the nation; as of midnight on March 23rd, passenger flights from Russian territory to other points of the globe were temporarily limited, borders with several countries were closed, they are progressively limiting the concentration of people; museums, theaters were closed, holiday activities and courses were suspended, and distance work was promoted.

In addition, they are building a new temporary hospital in the capital to care for up to 500 patients. It was decided that people over 65 and those suffering from chronic illnesses would not be allowed to leave their homes, only to go to pharmacies and supermarkets.

In these cases, the embassy instructed us not to leave our homes, only when needed, and to be informed of the instructions given in Russia and to follow up on those of the Cuban government.

I say to the people of Las Tunas that it is important to take responsibility, to take care of ourselves, to be calm at home, and to transmit a lot of peace at this time. We are with online courses, fulfilling our study program. Always have confidence in the indications given by the highest direction of the country so that the disease does not spread.
