Guillermo Domínguez hospital, in Puerto Padre

In a few hours, the Guillermo Domínguez López General Teaching Hospital, in Puerto Padre, will take care of high-risk COVID-19 suspected patients and those with severe acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in the province, as part of the actions to confront the rebound of the new coronavirus in the region.

Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- Like by this date last year, the healthcare institution has about 200 beds in follow-up wards, Intensive and Intermediate units, mechanical ventilators, medications, and qualified personnel for the task in this fight for life.

Hemodialysis and Psychiatry services, Surgery and Obstetrics, and Gynecology emergencies will remain in the institution, with extreme biosafety regulations.
During the day, pregnant women and other patients from Gynecology, Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, and other specialties are transferred to the Doctor Ernesto Guevara Provincial Hospital, in Las Tunas, while the Emergency services are organized at the Romárico Oro polyclinic.

The increase in suspected cases of COVID-19 in the territory, and the rest of the province, as well as serious respiratory infections, require an increase in hospital capacities, for which the "Guillermo Domínguez López" assumes again these functions.
