According to official sources, the airline World2Fly made its first flight of the season from Lisbon, to Varadero, Cuba's main beach resort, Granma newspaper reported this today, as in 2022, World2Fly airline, owned by the Spanish hotel chain Iberostar, promoted the arrival of tourists interested in visiting Cuba through the air terminal in Matanzas province (western Cuba).

Havana, Cuba.- The airline's first flight of the current summer season arrived on Saturday at Varadero's Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport, with 430 passengers on board, from the Portuguese capital.

Airline supervisor Juan Carlos Martínez announced the news and stated that until the end of October, they will receive passengers every Saturday, tourists interested in stays in the Hicacos Peninsula (where Varadero is located) and in Havana (the capital city of Cuba).

In a survey, many travelers expressed that they expect to get to know the local culture, enjoy the tourist center of Varadero, where their main stay is located, and depending on their experience, they would repeat the visit.

Varadero is located about 140 kilometers east of Havana and constitutes this nation's main scenario of sun and beach tourism. (PL)
