The president of the National People's Power Assembly (parliament), Esteban Lazo, convened the Second Ordinary Session of that body, in its 10th Legislature.

Havana, Cuba.- The sessions will begin on December 20 of this year, starting at 9:00 a.m. (local time), at the Convention Palace in the capital.

According to previous information, the provincial governments of Cienfuegos and Las Tunas, as well as the Ministry of Industry, in its capacity as an Agency of the Central State Administration, will render an account at the meeting of the Legislative Body.

In both territories, compliance with the objectives and goals of the Economy Plan and the State Budget Law will be evaluated, with emphasis on the performance of basic services to the population, such as health, education, transportation and water resources.

Likewise, the progress of the Municipal Development Strategies, the application of science and innovation in all spheres, and the attention given to the population’s approaches, complaints and petitions will be analyzed.

Likewise, the compliance with the directives for the fight against crime, illegalities and social indiscipline and the actions for the improvement of the system of the People’s Power will be inspected.

The deputies also approved the exercise of the highest audit to the Ministry of Agriculture, the control period will cover the results of the year 2022 and the first semester of 2023.

During the meeting, the actions developed to revalue rural areas in the country will also be verified, prioritizing the communities of the Turquino Plan.
