Diplomatic relations between Cuba and Australia were established on 31 January, 1989.

Cuba ratified the will to continue strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation in sectors of common interest with Australia, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Havana, Cuba.- The Cuban Foreign Ministry stressed that relations between the two countries were established on January 31, 1989, and the ties of cooperation between the two countries have been strengthened over the years.

Both nations have exchanged and made progress not only in diplomatic matters but also in education, health care, sports, biotechnology, tourism, mining, and oil.

The Cuban Embassy in Australia ratified the willingness to continue to work to consolidate cooperative relations between the two States. (PL)
