Europe for Cuba channel for carried out a media marathon against the U.S. blockade imposed on the islandThe Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) acknowledged Sunday Europe for Cuba channel for carrying out a media marathon against the U.S. blockade imposed on the island, an initiative supported by the five continents.

Paris.- In its Sunday broadcast, the channel shared with its followers on YouTube and social networks the letter of thanks it received from the president of ICAP, Fernando González, for the 24 hours of uninterrupted transmissions.

These were carried out on April 2 and 3 to denounce the economic, commercial, and financial siege suffered by the Antillean nation.

The letter highlights the participation in the event of solidarity organizations, social movements, political forces, trade unions, members of parliament, intellectuals, and Cubans living abroad, who in addition to repudiating the blockade applied by Washington for more than six decades, demanded its end.

The media marathon helped to generate a great mobilization to condemn this injustice committed against our people in violation of international laws and principles, Gonzalez said in his message.

According to the ICAP president, it was gratifying to hear friendly voices from various regions of the planet in their denunciation of the blockade, which is why he affirmed that it was worth the effort made by Europe for Cuba and its Russian-language section.

This reaffirms something we already know, the condemnation of the U.S. blockade is the main motivation for the solidarity actions of our friends on the planet, he said in the letter.

The channel's moderators, José Antonio Toledo and Patricia Pérez highlighted the ICAP's gesture and thanked the broad participation of the media, organizations, and people from the five continents.

They commented that the media marathon exceeded our expectations due to its global reach and the statements made in several languages.

Europe for Cuba acknowledged in its Sunday program the support of channels, radio stations, newspapers, magazines, alternative media, YouTubers, and news agencies, which multiplied the messages of rejection of the blockade against the island, which they described as genocidal. (RHC)
