He described the progress made since the 1990s as impressive, recalling that investment in tourism was envisioned precisely to make the sector the economy's "locomotive," a process that continues and needs attention.
While highlighting the fact that Cuba is appreciated around the world as a tourist destination for the comfort of its hotels, beautiful beaches, and its security, Díaz-Canel insisted on prioritizing efforts to supply the industry with domestically produced products, to lower costs and promote development of other sectors.
