People from Las Tunas elects their deputies to the Cuban Parliament

The polling stations remain open throughout the province of Las Tunas from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for voters to select deputies from this eastern province to the National Assembly of the People's Power.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The time to go to the polls marks the culmination of a process that has allowed the candidates to visit places of economic and social interest, as well as to exchange with the people in those and other spaces, to discuss the most pressing dilemmas for the inhabitants.

Seven of the candidates correspond to the capital municipality, three to Puerto Padre, and two per capita for the rest of the territories: “Amancio,” “Colombia,” Jobabo, Majibacoa, Manatí, and ”Jesús Menéndez.” Ten are constituency delegates, five are of national interest, and seven are of provincial descent.

Martha Rodríguez Martínez, the Provincial Electoral Council (CEP) president, recently pointed out to 26 that assurances are ready: the necessary resources are available, the electoral structures have all its members, and the communications system functions well.
She recalled that the people can vote for one, several, or all of those who appear on the ballot; while she called for discipline and participation.

The province has more than 394,957 voters, belonging to 668 constituencies with 3,340 electoral authorities and 1,995 polling station members, as well.
