Havana, Cuba.- More than one kilogram corresponded to synthetic cannabis, artificial chemical compounds, and the rest to cocaine, informed Moraima Rodríguez Nuviola, Director of Confrontation of the institution, in a meeting with Cuban journalists.
She clarified that the figure is very low, but that the prevention and confrontation of drugs is a national priority, under its Zero Tolerance program, whose regulations is made known to every traveler who enters, transits or leaves the island's air or sea border.
Rodríguez Nuviola warned about the persistence of incidents at six border points, the diversification of the origins and routes used, as well as the increase in the number of women who ingest the drug or adhere it to their bodies, as assisted methods of concealment.
She mentioned the influence in these cases of the increasing trend of travellers, operations and the carrying of drugs, the growth of imports by non-commercial areas, of interconnectivity, as well as the promotion of subversive and enemy activity. (ACN)
