2023 Art for Mom Fair

Although we must honor our mothers every day, it is nice to dedicate a detail to them when the second Sunday of May arrives. Amid hair-raising prices in different places, it is encouraging to find slightly more accessible options, as it has provided since May 9 the Arte para Mamá Fair (Art for Mom), sponsored by the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC), from the Cultural Plaza and the Fayad Jamís gallery.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In this regard, Yudith Góngora Santiesteban, Image and Communication Specialist of the FCBC, told 26: “This year, the fair is dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the creation of our institution. As a novelty, we launched wooden tools, with good acceptance, in which different artisans and artists from the territory participate, among them Rafael Santiesteban and Roger Antuña.

"Besides the creators who usually appear in the Plaza Cultural, we are accompanied by members of local development projects. We have articles of saddlery, footwear, and costume jewelry...; fiber items stand out, our leading product, such as baskets, which are so popular at home. We always take care of something that characterizes us: offering authentic products."

Purses, sets of cups, and decorative objects of various shapes and materials are among the proposals that are sold in the city's historic center. The prices are varied and, due to their beauty and economic accessibility, the bracelets and handmade necklaces stand out, which cost 65.00 pesos in national currency each.
