26 Newspaper, from Las Tunas, elected its director Elena Diego Parra, in an assembly of the grassroots structure, to represent the membership in the sessions of the 11th Congress of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC), scheduled for July in Havana.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The opportunity to directly select a delegate from among its affiliates is a recognition to the collective for winning one of the Juan Antonio Borrego Innovation Awards granted at the recently held 3rd Julio García Luis National Press Festival, and for being one of the 15 Cuban public media that are part of the experiment as an outpost for the economic, technological and editorial transformation of the press.

The Jury of the Festival argued the delivery of the prize to 26 "for the proposal of a communicational strategy for the coverage of exceptional situations that stands out for its integrality, its theoretical conception, and results that guarantee a successful application, such as the greater confidence of the public in the informative capacities of the media, besides providing advisory services to other institutions of the territory and to local governments on strategic communication to manage crises."
