Grand Prizes of the 2023 Provincial Radio Festival in Las Tunas

In the context of Radio Victoria's 70th birthday celebrations, the results of the Provincial Radio Festival were announced. The jury was made up of prestigious professionals Gianny López Brito, Esther de la Cruz Castillejo, Rosa María Ramírez Reyes, César Hidalgo Torres, María Isabel Colmenares González, and Wilber Antonio Díaz Velázquez.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- After analyzing 39 works in the competition, 30 in the informative category and nine in varied programming, the experts decided to award the prize for the best approach to the José Martí theme to the program Campanita de Colores with "Pepito en el bosque de la fantasía", which also won the Grand Prize; while the prize for the use of heritage in radio production went to De otra Manera, with its "Tributo a Metodio Diez" (Tribute to Metodio Diez). The award for musical spaces was won by El Guateque, for country music. All of them represent the provincial radio plant.

In the individual sections, the winner in female acting was actress Elizabeth Borrero Batista, for her character Campanita; the most successful script was that of Abel Molina Montes de Oca and the most successful musicalization was that of Carlos Alberto Montero Salgado, all three related to "Pepito en el bosque de la fantasía" (Pepito in the forest of fantasy). Likewise, the scepter in sound production went to Michel García Castro for A media mañana, from Radio Libertad.

In the journalistic genre category, the winners were reporter Yenima Díaz Velázquez and announcer Ángel Alberto Torres López, from Radio Victoria, with the information "Enfrentar la sequía, otro reto del sector agropecuario" and the commentary "El delito contra el ganado mayor  requiere el punto final". In the latter category, Yordanis Rodríguez Vega, from Radio Libertad, won a mention with "Seleccionados en el Béisbol" (Selected in baseball).

The interview category went to Yaidel Miguel Rodríguez Castro, from Radio Cabaniguán, with "Iraís, la campesina" (Iraís, the peasant). This reporter also shone in reportage with "La Finca de los Pascual". In testimony, Raudel Rodríguez Aguilar and Ángel Espinosa Hernández awarded a mention to "Maestra", from the "Colombia" correspondent's office. In the chronicle category, the winners were Ada Cristina Higuera Tur and Yusdel Rojas Ortiz, from "Victoria", with "El poder de la música", who in turn received a special prize from the TunasVisión Provincial TV channel. Yenima Díaz Velázquez and William Vázquez Sosa's report on the accident at the Supertanker Base in Matanzas stood out.

Primera Plana (Radio Victoria) reached the top position as a news magazine, while the Manatí program En la calle, with "Los precios", received a mention. In terms of digital journalism, Rodríguez Castro (Cabaniguán) and Agenda Deportiva, promoted by Gretel Tamayo Velázquez and Ángel Luis Batista Santiesteban (Radio Victoria) stood out. The latter also deserved the laurel for coverage on social media with the narrations of Dánel Castro's hits record.

The most outstanding podcast was Tiempo de Cambio with the topic "El comportamiento de los nuevos actores económicos en el entorno social" (The behavior of new economic actors in the social environment), by colleague Miguel Díaz Nápoles (Victoria). The informative grand prize went to Ada Cristina Higuera Tur and Yusdel Rojas Ortiz ("The power of music"), as well as the exhibition presented by Yaidel Rodríguez Castro.

A special moment was reserved for the presentation of the Cuban Radio Microphone to Rosa María Ramírez Reyes, the New Generation Award to Wilber Antonio Díaz Velázquez, the Third Level Technical Merit to Javier Mora Cabrera, and the 100th Anniversary Seal of Cuban Radio to Maura Peña Machado and Roberto Domínguez Espinosa.
