Sultasto guitart quartet

The Sultasto guitar quartet reached its ninth anniversary on May 25. Behind the curious name that alludes to a code of stringed instruments that means "on the frets" and produces the sweetest sound, there is a whole work of empowered women: mothers, teachers of the El Cucalambé professional art school, and integral artists.

Concert guitarist Elvira Skourtis

This girl travels the streets and performs on stages in Las Tunas, Santiago, Havana, and Villa Clara, all over Cuba, and occasionally in Germany, Canada, Costa Rica, or France. Always with her guitar on her back and that haughtiness that betrays the Russian, Greek, and Spanish mixture, making her a unique Cuban.

In Las Tunas, more than 90 percent of the programming comes from the Movement of Amateur Artists

The Amateur Artists Movement (MAA in Spanish) is a necessary pillar for the development of different cultural processes. From anonymity, and free of charge, they spread good practices and qualities in institutions, intricate areas, and diverse communities. Their day was recently celebrated, but there is still much to be done to recognize the value of their multiple contributions to society.
