With the gala "One Hundred Years with Fidel," the residents of Las Tunas commemorated the ninth anniversary of the death of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution on the evening of November 25th.
Las Tunas, Cuba.– It was a commemoration marked by music, dance, and poetry. Artists from different generations testified to their creative connection with the eternally young rebel and, in the emblematic José Martí Plaza, intertwined songs and rekindled the dream of freedom.
The main political and governmental authorities of the territory were present, still wearing olive green after Hurricane Melissa struck eastern Cuba, and they listened to the words of the young people, who expressed their pride in carrying on Fidel’s legacy.
Because they said they were paying homage to his struggle for justice, spoke of his teachings on defending ideals, his legacy of courage, and how his voice resonates in every corner of the Homeland.
They called for continued collaboration for the future of Cuba, and, as the screen displayed photos of the bearded leader at different moments in his revolutionary life, they pledged to continue defending the banners of emancipation that have brought them this far.
